VOHANČICE

Province: Jihomoravský Kraj
District (Okres) : Brno-venkov

Coat of arms (crest) of Vohančice
Official blazon
Czech V zeleném štítě dvě vztyčená stříbrná račí klepeta.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were registered on January 14, 2000.

The oldest seal of the village, dating from around 1700, showed two trees and a forester. The arms are not based on this sea, but are those of the oldest known Lords of Vohančice from the 15th century. Their arms showed two red crayfish claws in silver. The municipality changed the colours to distinguish the arms from those of the family.
