- (fr) Parti à dextre d'argent d trois arbres terrassés de sinople passant dans une couronne d'or à trois fleurons et deux perles et à senestre d'azur au dextrochère habillé du manteau de chaur de moniale d'or mouv ant du flanc senestre de l'écu, tenant une crosse du même, tournée à dextre, l'écu en forme de losange.
- (nl) Gedeeld rechts van zilver met drie boomen geplant in een grond van sinopel gaande door een kroon van goud met drie fleurons en twee paarlen, en links vanlazuur met een rechterarm gekleed met den koormantel eener kloosterzuster van goud, uitgaande van de linkerzijde van het schild, houdend een staf van het zelfde naar rechts gewend, het schild in ruitvorm.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on November 19, 1936.
The oldest use of the arms dates from the seal of 1444. Previously the local council used on its seals since 1279 only the arm holding a crosier.
The left half of the arms refer to the local Benedictian Convent, which existed from 1099-1796. The convent ruled the village during these centuries.
The right half is canting, showing a forest. The local forests were in medieval times the hunting grounds of the Dukes of Brabant, which is symbolised by the crown around the trees.
