Official blazon

In Blau auf grünem Boden der silbern nimbierte, golden gerüstete heilige Martin auf schwarz gezäumten silbernem Ross, der mit dem silbernen Schwert ein Stück seines roten Mantels dem auf dem Boden sitzenden Bettler zuteilt.

Origin/meaning

The arms show St. Martin, the patron saint of the town, who first appears on the oldest known seal dating from the 17th century. The colours are known since 1812 and have not changed since.
