Walheim was a possession of the Counts of Baden until 1595. The oldest seal dates from 1530 and shows the bend of Baden. The present arms, granted in 1939, show the arms of[[Baden (State)|Baden]], although with the bend in the wrong direction, and the letter W as the town's initial.
