The Waterberg district is part of the north-western Transvaal bushveld where warthogs, local " wild boars" are still found in the wild. Despite living hundreds of kilometers from the coast, the Waterberg has an ardent group of fishermen who regularly take their ski boats down to the coast for some sea fishing.
