Canton : Aargau

Wappen von Wettingen/Arms (crest) of Wettingen

Official blazon

Im Wellenschnitt geteilt von Rot mit sechsstrahligem gelbem Stern, und von Weiss mit drei blauen Wellen.

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted on July 5, 1957.

The star and waves are a symbol of the patron saint of the Wettingen Abbey, the St. Mary (Maria stella maris; Mary, star of the sea), to which the village historically belonged.
