Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on December 12, 1980.
The name may have been derived from Walddorf (forest-village) and this is symbolised by the oak tree. The small shield refers to coal mining ad agriculture as main activities in the municipality. The colours are those of the Samtgemeinde Nord-Elm.
