The arms were officially granted on 24 September 1456. The arms were confirmed, and second crest and supporters granted 29 January
1603, both crests confirmed 9 September 1961.
The original motto was 'Delite in God & he shall give the thy desyre'. In 1603 it was 'Quae arguuntur a lumine manifestantur'.
