Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on January 28, 1843 and again on February 24, 1981.

The arms were already used by the oldest Lords of Zedelgem and were mentioned already in the 14th century. The estate of Zedelgem passed in 1389 to the Lords of Haveskerke and these adopted the arms as their own. Later families did not adopt the arms.

In 1843 the historical arms thus were restored and confirmed after the municipal changed in 1977.
