Van azuur met een korengarve van goud, gebonden van dezelfde kleur, de korenaren van sinopel - het schild rechts gehouden door een Heilige Bavo in lekenklerenm een valk op de vuist, het geheel van goud.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on January 21, 1957.

The arms are those of Viglius van Zuichem d'Aytta, who acquired the village in 1559 He was the chairman of the Secret Council, Chancellor of the Order of the Golden Fleece and a famous politician. Being the most famous Lord of Zellik, the munjicipality decided to use his arms as the municipal arms.

The supporter in St. Bavo, the local patron saint.

Initially, in 1815, the municipality applied for the arms of the last Lords of Zellik, two shields with the arms of Tour en Tassis and of Zierotin. As these arms were not found on any of the seals of the council, it was rejected. Afterwards the municipality did not apply again until 1955.
