ZETEL

State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Friesland
Additions : 1972 Neuenburg

Origin/meaning :
The arms were officially granted in 1949.

The arms show symbols for the main economic activities in the municipality at the time. The wheat ears symbolise the agricultural character of the area. The spindle symbolises the textile industry.
The colours are derived from the arms of the State of Oldenburg, to which the area historically belonged.
