ZIEGENHAIN (ZIG)

Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on April 21, 1938.

The arms show an eagle with a goat's head and were based on the arms of the counts of Ziegenhain, who used the figure since 1207. The family ruled the area until 1450, when the area became part of Hessen.
