• (de) In Blau ein schwebendes gelbes, kugelendiges Kreuz, belegt mit einem silbernen Schildchen, darin zwei schwarze Balken, umgeben von einem schwebenden, viereckigen, silbernen Rahmen.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1961.

The arms are based on a seal dating from 1713. The small shield is the arms of the Counts of Isenburg. They ruled the area from the middle of the 13^th century until the end of the 18^th century. The cross may be a symbol for the old monastery in the town. The meaning of the square is not known.
