Origin/meaning
The municipality consisted of the three villages of Klaistow, Kanin and Busendorf, which until 1815 were a possession of Sachsen, but surrounded by Brandenburg. The villages are still known as the Saxon villages. The golden and black bars in the arms are derived from the arms of Sachsen to symbolise this fact. The base shows three asparagus sprouts, one for each village, and are a symbol of the culture of asparagus in the municipality.
