Origin/meaning
The arms feature a sea with a parrot (heraldically known as a popinjay), representing the armiger's nickname "CJ" or "sea-jay." Two quills on either side symbolize his dual majors in History and Political Science. The crest is a seven-pointed half-sun, inspired by the sun in the Philippine coat of arms, reflecting his Filipino heritage.
The armiger chose seven rays for the crest for both aesthetic and symbolic reasons. Aesthetically, an uneven number ensured a balanced alignment. Symbolically, each ray represents a day of the week, reflecting the belief that each day is an opportunity to live life to the fullest.
The shield mainly uses white, blue, and red, except for the crest, which is gold. Gold was chosen to match the standard heraldic depiction of the sun, aligning with Filipino heraldry. Blue and white represent a nautical theme, with blue symbolizing waves and water, while white represents the color waves take on as they crest. The inclusion of red reflects one of the official colors of the armiger's university.
His motto, in Latin, means "Think within limits." The armiger aims to approach life pragmatically, considering personal limitations and avoiding overestimating abilities. This mindset has significantly guided him in life.
