Origin/meaning

The Titling Spear and Crescent Moon is from the Crest of the arms of Field Marshal Lord Montgomery victor at El Alamein, a Second World War Battle of 1942. The Motto is also Lord Montgomery's and is in French meaning "Guard well". The badge was approved on 6 May 1946.
