Origin/meaning
The arms are canting, “Kolouch” in the Czech language meaning “fawn” which is visually very close from the traditional heraldic “doe”. The chequy border is reminiscent of the chequy eagle from the coat of arms of Moravia, the historical province of origin of the Kolouch family. The armillary sphere is an iconic symbol of the age of the great discoveries and the Renaissance period. It is a metaphor of knowledge, especially historical and refers to the curiosity and the taste of travel of the armiger. The Austerlitz sun on the badge is a reference to the Battle of Austerlitz. Austerlitz ("Slavkov u Brna" in Czech) is a small town near Brno where the Armiger worked while studying history.
