Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted in 1913.
The arms show the red bend of Baden and two symbols for the local agriculture, a grape-knife and a plough-iron.
The oldest known seal of the local council is known from a document from 1482. It shows already the bend of Baden and a grape-knife. This seal was in use until 1665, when a new seal was made. This seal already showed the same composition as the present arms. Two later seals both show the same composition.
In 1906 the State Archives proposed to use the composition as arms and added the colours. It took until 1913 before the council finally adopted the proposal.
