Origin/meaning :
The arms of Degerloch are known since 1654, when they appear on a stained glass window in the old village hall. The colour in the glass is more like violet, which has resulted in later images with a blue, instead of a red field. The change of colour, however, is due to the method the glass was made. Other sources indicate that the red field is the correct colour.

The arms are a combination of a plough iron, a symbol of agriculture, and two canting swords (Degen). The plough iron, however, is not seen on the 19^th century seals of the village. In the end of the 19^th century the iron re-appears.
