The arms were officially granted on May 22, 2006.
 
The arms show the symbols of the three Saints Faith (cross), Hope (anchor) and Charity (chalice), the local parish saints. The chief refers to the two main villages Lauperath and Schiedchen as well as to the larger farms Hof, Scheuerbaum and Reuschenhof. The silver and red colours are those of the Prüm Abbey, to which the village belonged in medieval times.
