Official blazon

(de) Geteilt von Gold und Rot; oben ein betagleuchteter roter Marstall mit Satteldach, sechs balkenweise angeordneten Rundbogenfenstern und einer Tür im Mittelteil sowie je zwei rechteckigen und zwei Rundbogenfenstern (2:2 gestellt) in den Seitenteilen; unten ein springender goldener Hase.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 19, 1996.

The building are the large stables in the village of Ortkrug, a famouos landmark in the municipality. The hare is a canting symbol for the village of Hasenhäge (Hase=hare). The colours are those of the Schwerin County.
