Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 11, 1996.

The arms show a canting oak tree, which symbolises the local oak-of-freedom in the village. The colours were chosen in a way that they are not identical to any other German arms with oaks. The village previously also used an oak tree in it seals.
