Origin/meaning
The oldest seal of the city is known since the 15th century, even though a seal is mentioned in 1235. This seal and all later seals until the 18th century show St. Peter, the patron saint of the town. The present arms were granted in 1845 and show only the key, the symbol of St. Peter.
The arms by Hupp in the Kaffee Hag albums +/- 1925 |
