Selected collector's items from Germany:

SINGEN

State : Thüringen
District (Kreis) : Ilm-Kreis
Incorporated into : 1994 Singerberg (1996 Ilmtal)

Wappen von Singen (Ilmtal)
Official blazon
German

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on March 17, 1992.

The golden lion is a reference to the Counts of Schwarzburg, who ruled the village for a long time. The small green hill and the blue flower are a symbol for the Singer Berg, after which the village was named. The mountain is only 582 m. high, but the highest in the Ilm district.

The flower is a campion and is derived from a local legend, in which a blue flower plays a role. The flower also refers to the local botanist, Schönheit, who lived in the village from 1826-1870.
