Origin/meaning

The Margraviate of Burgau was a small territory in the present state of Bayern, which became a possession and title of the Habsburg family. In 1805 it became part of Bayern. Capital was the city of Günzburg. From 1835-1923 the arms were also part of the Bavarian State arms.
