The upper half shows a black cross in gold, symbolising the St. Martin's church in Oldendorf, which was already the main church in the area in the Middle Ages. The golden urn in the base represents the many archaeological findings in the region dating from the Stone age (4000-2000 BC), such as megalith graves. The green colour symbolises the agricultural character of the region.
