Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on
The arms show in the upper half atypical farmhouse of the region as well as a stone age monolith. These graves have been found in the municipality and the grave thus symbolises the fact that the area has been inhabited already for a very long time. The silver wavy bend symbolises the many rivers and streams in the area.
The base shows a flower with four leaves, one for each of the villages in the municipality ( Hellingst, Oldendorf, Paddewisch and Steden).
