Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on February 1, 1954.

The upper half shows the wheel of the State of Mainz, to which the village belonged for over 300 years until 1803. The lower half shows the cross of the Teutonic Order, to which the village belonged from 1373-1483. The base symbolises the Main river.
