BREIDENBACH
State : Hessen
District (Kreis) : Marburg-Biedenkopf (until 1973 Biedenkopf)
Additions : 1972 Achenbach, Kleingladenbach, Oberdieten, Wiesenbach, Wolzhausen
German | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on July 9, 1956.
The wolf's hook is derived from the arms of the medieval Lords of Breidenbach, who ruled the village for many centuries. The wavy bend is a canting symbol (Bach=stream).
