NO 213 SQUADRON, ROYAL AIR FORCE
History: Formed at Dunkerque in June 1917 as No 13 Squadron, Royal Naval Air Service. Renumbered as No 213 Squadron, Royal Air Force on 1 April 1918.
Title: Caylon.

A hornet proper.
Motto: Ieritatus lacessit crabro = The hornet attack when roused.
Origin/meaning
The Hornet alludes to the nickname "The Hornets" used by the Squadron during World War One. The badge was granted in January 1938.
