OLNHAUSEN

State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Heilbronn
Incorporated into : 1972 Jagsthausen

Wappen von Olnhausen/Arms (crest) of Olnhausen
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on February 23, 1960.

As there were no historical seals or arms known for the village, canting arms were designed in 1959. The name can be derived from Aal-hausen (Eel-house), hence a swimming eel and a house. The eel also appeared on the seal of the local Lords of Olnhausen from the 13th century. The colours of their arms were not known, but they used a silver and blue banner, from which the colours of the village arms were derived.
