SALVAGE ASSOCIATION (Originally: Association for the Protection of Commercial Interests as respects Wrecked and Damaged Property)
Official blazon
English |
Arms : Argent, an anchor in bend azure; over all a cross gules. |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on June 10, 1955, but, without supporters and crest, have been in use much longer.
The arms show the cross of the arms of the city of London and an anchor indicating the "London Marine Market".
The seagull and the cormorant supporters indicate "Above and below the Waves".
The crest with the globe and chain surrounding it, represents "Around the World".
The Latin motto means "Seek the Truth"
