Selected collector's items from Germany:

DONAUSTAUF

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Regensburg
Additions : 1978 Sulzbach an der Donau

Wappen von Donaustauf

Official blazon

Gespalten von Blau und Silber; belegt mit einem goldenen Dreiberg, aus dem ein Weinstock mit vier Trauben und zwei Blättern in verwechselten Farben wächst.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted by Duke Albrecht IV of Bayern on the Thursday before St. Margareth in 1494. The blue and silver colours are derived from the arms of the Wittelsbach family, Dukes of Bayern. The vine symbolises the then very important viticulture in the area. The arms thus have not changed since.
