The 12th Centry Seat of the Bishops of Winchester until 1925. The Eagle is from the Arms of Bishop de Blois (1129-1171). The Keys are from the Arms of the See of Winchester. The Badge was approved in 1953.
Admiral Robert Faulknor (7163-1795) lost his life on the Blanche, but had gained his laurels capturing the French Bienvenue the previous Year. The Latin Motto translates as "Love of country leads". The badge was approved in 1933.

Origin/meaning

Admiral Robert Faulknor (7163-1795) lost his life on the Blanche, but had gained his laurels capturing the French Bienvenue the previous Year. The Latin Motto translates as "Love of country leads". The badge was approved in 1933.
