Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on July 21, 1995.
The wall in the base of the shield is the arms of the Oberlausitz area, and symbolises at the same time the three former districts. The small shield shows the arms of the former Prussian province of Niederschlesien. The linden leaves symbolise the original Sorben people.
