Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 20, 1970.

The arms combine a heart, which is derived from the only historical seal of the town, dating from 1737, with the arms of the Lords of Eppstein, who ruled the village for a long time. The origin or meaning of the heart is not known.

The arms below were proposed in 1956 and only show the heart.
