RAF STATION OAKHANGER, ROYAL AIR FORCE
History: Oakhanger was transferred from the Army to the Royal Air Force on December 20, 1967.
Official blazon
In fron of a roundel sable charged with a decrescent argent a petatus Or.
Motto: Ultra tellurem dico = I speak th truth.
Origin/meaning
The Station has a Radio Communications Role and the Roundel represents the Dark Continium of Space through which the Messages travel with the Decrescent alluding to the use of Earth Satellites for this purpose. The Patatus = Helmet of Mercury is symbolic of the carriage of messages past the earths boundary. The badge ws granted in July 1974. Literature: Image from Pinterest.
