ZENS

State : Sachsen-Anhalt
District (Kreis) : Salzlandkreis (until 2008 Schönebeck)
Incorporated into: 2007 Bördeland

Wappen von Zens/Arms (crest) of Zens
Official blazon
German In Grün eine aufgerichtete silberne Ziege mit goldenen Hörnern und schwarzen Hufen auf goldenem Dreiberg.
English No blazon/translation known. Please click here to send your (heraldic !) blazon or translation

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted in 1995.

The goat (Ziege) is a canting element for the village, which is known to the locals as Zicken-Zens. The goat is placed on a hill, as the village is on a hilly part, a remnant of a glacial moraine. The gold refers to the rich cornfields in the area.
