Additions : 1978 Holzkirchhausen

Wappen von Helmstadt (Unterfranken)/Arms (crest) of Helmstadt (Unterfranken)
Official blazon
German

In Gold drei, zwei zu eins gestellte, sechsblättrige rote heraldische Rosen, dazwischen eine waagrechte blaue Keule.

English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms are already seen on the oldest known seal of the town, which dates from the early 18th century. The arms were officially adopted in 1914, the colours were chosen arbitrarily. The roses most likely are derived from the arms of the Counts of Wertheim, who ruled the town in medieval times.

Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
