Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on OCtober 3, 1966 and were newly devised as there were no old seals or arms known for the town.
The tree is a symbol of the historical court that was held in Senden. In Germanic times the courts were always held under a large oak tree. The colours are derived from the arms of the 17th century family Von Droste von Senden, who originated from the village.
The bend is derived from the arms of the Lords of Senden from the Benekamp family.
Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
