History: Formed at Catterick in May 1941.
Official blazon
A hawk volant, wings elevated and addorsed sable.
Motto: Jeden jestřáb mnoho vran rozhání = One hawk scatters many crows.
Origin/meaning
The badge is a pictorial reference to the Motto, taken from a 13th Century Czech Chronicle which relates to German intentions against Czechoslovakia. It was used as an exhortation to the Czech Nation to thwart the German plans. The badge was granted in June 1945.
