Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 7, 1977.

The arms are based on a seal of the village from 1724. The meaning is not known, but a forested part of municipality is known as Bärenheide (bear-meadows). The arms may have some relevance to this.

As no colours were known, the colours of Franken were chosen.
