Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1953 and show a canting garb.

The arms with the garb and three small bars are already known since the 14^th century in the arms of the Lords of Garbenheim. This family had large possessions in the area since the early 13^th century until 1328. The arms were based on the arms of the Lords, as there were no old seals or images of a village arms.
