ANDREAS CREUSEN
Born: 1591
Deceased: November 9, 1666
Bishop of Roermond, 1651-1657
Archbishop of Mechelen, 1657-1666
Bishop of Roermond |
Archbishop of Mechelen |
Dutch | In goud drie palen van keel, een schildhoofd van sinopel, beladen met drie penningen van zilver. Motto: VICTRIX FORTUNAE SAPIENTIA |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms are based on the arms of the Creusen family, which used three pellets (black balls) on a silver field (Habets, 1890). Why the colours are different is not known.
