  • (de) Geviert; 1: in Blau ein goldenes, aus der Teilungslinie hervorgehendes Kleeblattkreuz; 2: in Rot auf grünem Boden eine silberne Kirche mit schwarzem Tor, ebensolchen Fensteröffnungen und Bedachung sowie schwarzen Kreuzen auf

dem Zeltdach des linken vorgebauten Turmes und des Langhauses; 3: in Rot zwei silberne Pfähle; 4: in Gold ein schwarzer Hahn mit rotem Kamm und ebensolchen Kinnlappen.

Origin/meaning

The arms show the cross and pales from the diocesan arms impaled with the personal arms of the bishop. Th eupper half of the personal half shows the arms of Grieskirchen, where he was born. The lower half shows a rooster is taken from the symbols of the Seminary of the diocese of Linz.
