Official blazon
- (Eichstätt) Zwei Schilde; rechts der EichstätterKrunrnstab; links im Zinnen schnitt Rot und Silber geteilt
Origin/meaning
In Eichstätt he used two shield, which was a fashion at the time; one with the diocesan arms and one with the personal arms. These are the historical arms of the Counts von Preysing and were also part of the more complex family arms of the Counts of Preysing-Lichtenegg-Moos, see below.
In Berlin he initially also used two shields in a similar way, but after his elevation to cardinal he used the family arms as an inescutcheon on the archdiocesal arms.
