NO 4 OPERATIONAL TRAINING UNIT, ROYAL AIR FORCE

History: Formed at Stantaer in January 1941.

Badge: In front of a fountain a torch erect Or.
Motto: Maria turi docemus alumnos = We theach the young fledglings to guard the seas.

Origin/meaning

The Torch symbolises learning and the fountain the duties over the Seas for which the Unit trains its pupils. The badge was granted in March 1945.
