NO 897 SQUADRON, FAA
History: First formed in 1942 at Royal Naval Air Station Stretton (HMS Blackcap), Warrington as a Fleet Fighter Squadron with Supermarine Seafire in HMS Unicorn. For d.Day it operated Hawker Sea Hurricane. It reformed 1955-1957 at Royal Naval Air Station Brawdy with Sea Hawks.

Origin/meaning
The Latin motto translates as "The very best we can". The Badge was approved on 27 May 1944.
