OCKSTADT
State : Hessen
District (Kreis) : Wetteraukreis (until 1975 Friedberg-Hessen)
Incorporated into : 1972 Friedberg
German | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The above arms were proposed for Ockstadt in 1956. The wolf iron is the old village sign, which has been used on borderstones since the 17th century. It is most likely derived from the arms of the Lords of Frankenstein, who used the same symbol in their arms. The black bars are derived from the oldest known Lords of Ockstadt (1280-1462).
I don't know whether the arms were ever adopted by the municipality.
