Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on May 25, 1952.
The arms show as the main symbol the local church, one of the most important country churches in Schleswig-Holstein. The elm leaf symbolises the many forests in the municipality, the rose is a symbol for the many nurseries in the area that are specialised in cultivating roses.
